This is one of my favorite all time songs. It hits a key of emotional connection in a relationship which is seldom touched on - casualness, trust, safety in lowering defenses. That's what I hear when I'm listening. Tape Waves also has a hint of Twee (Tiger Trap, Jale, etc.) in the mix which I enjoy.

I have several problems with a member of this band, so I'm disinclined to like this album. However, exceptional music speaks for itself, and this album really is exceptional, from the guitar work to the vocals to the production. As painful as it is for me to write these words, this is among the best releases of the year and firmly belongs in the collection of anyone who cares about contemporary indiepop.

Just found out today they split, thought I'd buy the cd. These guys were a seriously good dreampop band. This whole album is awesome, but the instrumental Windfall and closing Gemini are standouts, and of course I have to mention the AMAZING Wildfire. While I'm at it, I recommend listening to The Other Side of Midnight (not on this album). Fell in love with that track; it was my most played song on Spotify in 2019.
